FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I send in my own belt for embroidery?
A. We are happy to embroider customer’s own belts, but please note that there could be complications due to varying thickness of the different brand belts.
Although very rare, the needle on the machines may break or bend, causing damage to the belt in which case we can take no responsibility if a belt is damaged by one of our embroidery machines.   If the belt is of another make, we will not be able to replace it.
The customer should ensure that when sending belts to us for embroidery, sufficient postage has been paid otherwise the package will not be accepted.
Blackbelt Embroidery takes no responsibility for packages not received, therefore the customer should ensure that the belts are sufficiently insured. All carriage costs for the return of the belt will be borne by the customer.

Q. Do you have a minimum order?
A. We are happy to supply any quantity.

Q. When do I have to pay?
A. Payment must be made when placing your order.

Q. How much do you charge for postage?
A. We offer 2 postal options, Royal Mail Tracked 24 and 48. The prices for these can be seen at the checkout section of your order.

Q. How long do you take to deliver?
A. Times quoted for despatch are approximatly 8 working days from payment of order, but does not include the day in which the order was received. Whilst every effort will be made to deliver orders on the date requested this may neither be taken as implying any legal obligation to deliver on the due date nor any reason for withholding payment. If priority processing is chosen, this reduces your processing lead time to 4 full working days but again, this does not include the day your order was received. your order will then be sent using your chosen postal option.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. Orders cannot be cancelled due to the personalised nature of our products once an order has been placed and approved by us.

Q. What fonts do you have?
A. Our order pages show a selection of popular fonts. If you have any other font then, please notify us of this in the notes section at checkout and we will do our best to use this option.

Q. Can I have my name embroidered on the belt in Korean, Japanese or other languages?
A. Yes! We search various translation options to give you the best results. Once we are happy with your translation, we will send you a proof of design for your approval. No embroidery will take place until your approval has been given on the design and translation on your belt.

Q. I have got my own belt; will you embroider them for me?
A. Yes we are quite happy to embroider customer’s own belts, but please note that there could be complications due to varying thickness of the different brand belts. Although very rare, the needle on the machines may break or bend, causing damage to the belt in which case we can take no responsibility if a belt is damaged by one of our embroidery machines. If the belt is of another make, we will not be able to replace it. All embroidery will be placed on the prominent face of the belt that is usually indicated by lables on the belt.

Q. What are the maximum numbers of characters I can fit on the belt before the text is too small to read?
A. Generally anything under 16 characters including spaces (horizontal) and 12 characters (vertical) will not be a problem. The best thing to do if you are unsure about anything is to ask us for a template of your belt when you place your order. Simply call us and mention this or when filling out your order form online type in ‘I would like a mock of my design please’ in the ‘Notes’ box at the checkout.

Q. What if my request is not possible?
A. If we come across your belt order and we think it might look better using a different orientation etc. we will contact you with some suggestions. Please be advised belt template requests may delay your belt order slightly.

Q. Can you originate my Design for me?
A. Yes, generally we can, depending of the complexity of your art work and text.

Q. Can you embroider a Club Logo onto a belt?
A. This will be dependent on how intricate and detailed the logo is. Some can be too intricate to be embroidered onto belts but we will do our best to give you alternatives if this is the case. Send us an image to blackbeltembroidery@gmail.com and if we think it can be done we will certainly give it a go! There may be an additional charge depending on the size and complexity of the design.

Q. How much do original designs cost to set up?
A. depending on the complexity, there may be digitising cost of £20 per design. To operate an embroidery machine your artwork has to be turned into one of several embroidery machine formats. This is a skilled job and is one of the main elements of high quality embroidery.

Q. What format should I send my artwork?
A. You can send your logo in either a JPG or PES format (150dpi or higher), stating the size required for the overall design (width x height) in centimetres. You can send it by email if you like.

Q. I already have my design on disk; can you use it without charging a set-up fee?
A. Yes, if it is in .PES or .DTS embroidery formats.

Q. Can I use the Design again?
A. Yes, once your design is set up you can re-order as many times as you like, without paying the original digitising costs again.

Q. I only want the name on my belt. – do I have to pay for a design set-up?
A. No, we do not charge a set-up fee for standard text only designs.

Q. Do your prices include embroidery?
A. Our prices include the embroidery, but design and embroidery costs are dependent on the client’s requirements and subject to change or additional charges depending on detail and size.
